Add a new verse, bridge, or chorus

Keep the story going beyond the first great hook. Use AI song extension to add another verse, build a bridge, or bring back the chorus. Your lyrics and style guide the new music, giving the next section its own direction.

Extend music from the right moment

Keep the opening you love and choose where the song moves on. Start near the end to continue the track, or earlier to take the ending in a new direction. The extension keeps the music before your chosen point.

How to Make a Song Longer with AI

Start in Extend Music, or use Remix → Extend on a song in Create. Both entry points lead to the same extension workflow.

Back to this workspace

  2. Set the start point and direction

Move the waveform marker to a natural break. Enter only the continuation lyrics, add a title, and describe the sound of the next section. Use Instrumental when available.

  3. Generate and check the transition

Review credits, then select Extend Music here or Create in the Create workspace. Find the completed version in this page's History or Create's Songs, and check the transition and ending. The original remains available.

AI Music Extender FAQ

How to extend a song, choose a continuation point, write the next section, and understand the limits before generating.

How do I extend a song with AI in Aimusicgen?

Choose an eligible completed song from My Songs in Extend Music, or select Remix → Extend in Create. Set the continuation point, title, style, and new-section lyrics. Extension generates new music guided by the source rather than looping it. Review the displayed credits, generate, and listen to the new version.

Will extending a song overwrite my original or replace its ending?

Your original song is kept, and the extension is saved separately. The continuation point determines where the new music begins; material after that point can be replaced in the new version. Choose a point near the end to retain most of the song, or earlier to rework the final section.

Can I choose exactly how many seconds AI adds to my song?

Extend lets you choose where the continuation starts, but it does not offer an exact added-duration setting. The starting point must be after the beginning and more than one second before the source ends. The generated length depends on the result, so a request for another verse or outro does not guarantee a specific number of seconds.

Can AI fix an abrupt ending or make a smoother outro?

You can use Extend to generate a new ending. Choose a continuation point before the abrupt cut, and describe the ending you want in the style instructions. Listen across the join for changes in rhythm, vocals, and volume. These controls guide generation; a seamless transition or a precise fade-out is not guaranteed.

Should I enter the whole song's lyrics or only the new lyrics?

Enter the lyrics you want sung after the continuation point. If you start within an existing verse, include the words that should follow from that moment. The source audio supplies the musical reference, while your style instructions describe the next section. Preview the chosen point before submitting so the lyrics begin in the right place.

Can I extend instrumental music without adding vocals?

Yes, when the source and selected model offer Instrumental mode. Enable it and describe the musical direction for the continuation; lyrics are not required in that mode. Instrumental extension is not available for every source. Use the options shown in the creator rather than leaving lyrics blank in a mode that requires them.

Can I extend my own uploaded audio, and why is Extend sometimes unavailable?

Eligible uploaded audio can be used for extension, subject to the selected model's upload-length limits. For songs already in your library, Extend requires a completed, playable source with a known duration and a supported source model. A disabled action can mean that the song is still processing or that its source does not support extension.

Can I extend a song more than once?

Yes. Once an extension finishes, you can use that version as the source for another extension if Remix → Extend is available. Choose a new continuation point and write the next section's lyrics and style. This lets you develop a song in stages, adding another verse, bridge, or outro. Each result is saved separately, so you can also return to an earlier version and try a different direction.
