Moments Being There
Lyrics
Today, I burned a memory
Of what a different cachet
Would be
But it’s not even close
It was just me talking
To a ghost
And there I was
In between the ai
Groceries and a memory
Hoping i wouldn’t
Flash everyone on the street
As I opened my windows
To vent the black smoke
I shouldn’t cook in the nude
But then again
I probably shouldn’t
Talk to a ghost
Either
I burned a little memory today
Of a Sphinx who was never gonna stay
But it wasn't even close, it was a lie
Just me talking to a ghost passing by
Oh, there I was, standing in between
The AI groceries and a faded dream
Hoping that the neighbors wouldn't see
The strange and smokey comedy of me
I threw the windows open to the street
To vent the black smoke and the sudden heat
Standing in the kitchen, stripped and bare
Wishing I could clear the heavy air
Well, they say you shouldn't cook without your clothes
That's just the way the kitchen story goes
But then again, it’s probably just as bad
To talk to ghosts of things you never had
So I watch the smoke drift out into the night
And the kitchen turns from dark back into light
No more will-o'-the-wisp made of promises and dust
Just a naked cook who's doing what they must
Yeah, talking to a ghost, oh no
Cooking in the nude, watch it go
Just a silly little ditty in the smoke
La la la, it's all a bit of a joke
Yeah, it's just me and the ghost
