HEAVY LOAD-HAMMER DOWN 1

pickin em up and layin em down

got a heavy load hammer down

i'm PULLIN OUTTA town

hittin the slab interstate road

got my diesel truck crankin eatin up the road

headin for dallas gettin there tonight

pickin em up and layin em down

got a heavy

load hammer down

towns are flyin by

dodging alligators

chickin coops closed

keep on truckin

gotta make some time

keeping my diesel between the lines

in the hammer lane better slow down

spot a local yokell comin up behind

me

flashing his lights

better

get back to the granny lane

truck drivin man you gotta be insane

ole truck is rollin and swaying

plastic jesus on the dashboard is nodding

sayin a prayer = radio

playing some Christian tunes

gona be in dallas pretty soon

ole diesel truck is a rockin

ole CB be a talkin

i'm pickin em up and layin em down

got a heavy load

i'm puttin the hammer down

gona be in Dallas town

keeping ole truck a rollin watching my fuel

just

passed a bull hauler and A WIGGLE WAGON they be a rollin too

OLE diesel truck is a rollin exhaust STACKS BLOWN SMOKE

making good time that no joke

pickin em up and layin em down

got a heavy load hammer down

rollin into dallas drop and pick up

then

back on the road again

headin to oklahoma city gotta set out my load

then home to my darlin waiting for me

been a long ole trip but I am happy to

see

the ole homestead comin up on me

ya'll remember the next time you see a trucker driving down the road

say a prayer God keeps em safe so he can get home

ya'll if ever need help, you can depend on a truck driver

to give ya a hand

truck drivers

are hard drivin and tough son of a guns they all have a hearts of gold

and they will always help ya if your having trouble on the road

you can take that to the bank

now

before I finish this song

I just wanna say

this song is dedicate to truck drivers on the road

god bless yall

keep your shiny side up

and

wheels on the road....
